Candleriggs-A Place For Artists is a housing project which aims to create a comfortable pleasant environment in the heart of the city centre for artists of all sorts. The scheme is aiming to provide flats that combine living areas with studio spaces, giving people the possibility to work within their own home. A common garden is provided for each block of the scheme, giving to the inhabitants the option of growing their own food. The avenue, which separates the two buildings, is the heart of the project. It becomes itself an art gallery by having multiple interactive art pieces. On top of the gallery, there is a roof garden which exhibits various pieces of sculpture, bringing both art and nature into the concept.
