The Barraside Community Centre aims to revitalize the Barras market and remind every Glaswegian of the values it has always stood for: A meeting place open to all and sundry, a place where nothing goes to waste and everything has value, and a place where creativity and spontaneity flourish in the midst of chaos. I’m offering a place to rest from all the hustle and bustle, workshops to inspire new skills, and a world-class theatre space. The workshops parallel the goods sold in the Barras, in order to promote the economy of the Barras while teaching the community useful, and often neglected, skills.
